RC Electric Cars or Nitro High Power Cars?
Anytime you hear somebody talk about the radio-controlled nitro high power car, it is more than likely that flashes of evenings at the races come to mind, complete with the roar of the engines.
Perhaps its so familiar to you that all you need to do is think of it and you can inhale the exhaust smell and all but hear the roar of the screaming crowd. There are shouts of encouragement as the drivers roar off from the start line in a haze of blue smoke.
Well, if you can’t make it to the speedway every weekend, but still love the charge you get from those sights and sounds, then a nitro high power car might be for you. It is a miniature version of what the big guys have, only controlled by radio and it might just fit the bill for some excitement around your house.
The great thing about these gas-powered RC cars is that they are replicas of the high power car models that are seen on the racing tracks. They are powered by a fuel mix that includes a fuel called nitro, hence they are often referred to as RC nitro cars.
One popular version is the RC high power car. They aren’t quite the same as the grown up versions though as they don’t lubricate the engine in the same way and so need to have some castor oil added to the fuel blend to make sure they don’t become overheated and break down.
One of the main advantages of the nitro cars is that they are able to reach and maintain a higher speed for a longer period of time and you can quickly and easily refill a nitro fueled car and get it back on the road immediately. With RC electric cars, you have to recharge the battery before it can run again, or you have to invest in costly additional battery packs.
The downside a RC high power car is that they are more complex and therefore require more maintenance. They also cost more to buy and they aren’t as environmentally friendly. Having fuel involved means there is more residue that has to be cleaned up when you’re done.
Another thing that you will need to take into consideration is the noise factor. A high power car that runs on nitro is quite a noisy little vehicle. That combined with the exhaust issue means they are not designed to be used in enclosed areas.
